About Simon and Garfunkel
After Simon and Garfunkel had parted ways for the second time in their career, it seemed that all was lost, until their producer, Tom Wilson, had a brainstorm. He took what he thought was the best track on "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M", the album Simon and Garfunkel had released with Columbia; "Sounds of Silence" and embellished the song with guitars and drums, to make it more folk-rock. In early 1966 it reached the number one spot on the charts.
